One of the upcoming food truck specials that we have in store for you is this exquisite & exotic Taco de Pies De Pollo.

One of the things we never have a shortage of here at SOHO TACO is creativity. Our juices are constantly flowing as we are constantly on the search for something delicious, new and innovative.

For many of you out there, you are well aware that once a month we feature a special on the food truck that embodies that endeavor. Often it’s something traditional with our own personal spin on the main ingredient, like the current April special #TacoDeCordero. Lamb is a common ingredient in tacos in various regions in Mexico and ours combines the extra flavor components of toasted pine nuts and curry yoghurt salsa which makes it unique to SOHO TACO.

Other times it’s something a bit more obscure or uncommon that we found interesting and we simply had to share, like our recent special for the month of February #TacoDeCharales. Savory, crispy deep fried seafood might not be well known as a taco, but it’s a delicacy in certain parts of Mexico. Hopefully you had a chance to try it!

Now we’re at it again and this time in the next coming months (perhaps in May?) we have something that’s unlike any taco you may have had and, if you give it a chance, it just might be something you would enjoy.

Meet our Taco De #PiesDePollo (price to be determined) which is made with boneless tender portions of chicken feet which have been breaded and deep fried to a crisp. Then we serve it on a bed of farm fresh cabbage and top it off with smoky salsa de chipotle. And, as with all tacos served on the food truck, it’s delivered on a fresh, hand-pressed tortilla.

As unique as it is delectable, this upcoming special of the month is unlike any other and an absolute foodie’s delight.

Ok ok, before you click away, it’s actually pretty good! It’s similar to a soft textured tempura so it’s nice and flavorful on the inside but crunchy on the outside. Then, the cabbage helps with the base note dimension as the chipotle salsa give is a needed high note.

In fact, it’s so tasty all you might need is just a squeeze of lime and it’s good as is.

We’re still deciding whether or not to feature it next month May or the following month of June. Stay tuned and hopefully we’ll have you running for chicken feet soon.
