Making America grape again, one appetizer at a time.

So, there you are at a wedding, the vows were just exchanged & it’s cocktail hour. You’re also wearing that tight little outfit that looks so chic but, well, it took a bit of effort to slip into …. and now you’re starving. You want to eat something that’ll keep you going until dinner kicks in, but you don’t want to overstuff yourself and rupture a zipper. What ever will you eat?!

That’s where a delightfully light but wonderfully satisfying appetizer would come in handy. And, at last Saturday’s wedding at Hummingbird Nest Ranch, that’s exactly what our exquisite Rebanadas de Uvas accomplished.

In this blog post are images of the same hand-held delights that we served at that wedding. They were colorful, vibrant and, most importantly, absolutely delicious.

Made with farm fresh grapes, creamy goat cheese, housemade chili lime peanuts and all served on a buttery toast. It was perfect for that in between the exchange of vows & chow time moment.

For this special occasion set in the Santa Susana area of Simi Valley, guests were treated to a few trayfuls of this appetizer, which did wonders for offsetting the steady flow of cocktails and keeping everyone’s balance.

The last thing you want are your guests getting too much cheer too fast and/or pass out from hunger. Fortunately we had several of these at hand.

Our crew was furiously assembling trays upon trays of these appetizers near the pool area and our hardworking bussing team dutifully brought them out as soon as they were ready.

Every few minutes or so they would come back with empty trays saying, “wow they must have been famished.”

Well fortunately no dresses burst nor did any pants inseams ruptured that evening, that we know of. And, we like to think our selection of Rebanada de Uvas had a little something to do with that.

So, if you have a wedding or special occasion coming up and you want to make sure everyone looks super chic throughout the evening, be sure to consider adding this meat free vegetarian treat to the menu.
