Happy Father’s Day, everyone! Today we honor the gentlemen in our lives that helped make us all possible. Without them, well, you probably wouldn’t be able to read this blog. From your friends and family here at SOHO TACO, we certainly hope your Dia De Los Padres is filled with love, happiness and, of course, good food.

Speaking of love and happiness, the other day we just catered another beautiful wedding and once again at a beautiful venue in Downtown Los Angeles.

Last Friday night we had the great pleasure of returning to one of our favorite locations, The Millwick. Essentially this repurposed industrial building located near the historic core of the city is like an island oasis of elegance, beauty and style.

The tricky thing about his location is the parking. If ever you have the terrific opportunity to visit this historic building, be sure to read all the signs and try to avoid getting any tickets… or worse! Fortunately all went smooth for our crew, but it was definitely a bit of a challenge trying to locate a safe spot for our van.

But, it was all worth the extra effort!

Once you’re inside the compound, instantly you know you’re in a different location. Beautiful exposed brick, lush greenery and landscaping and an elegant main dining hall make up The Millwick and it’s easy to see why it’s such a great place for a wedding reception.

Originally the building was built as a livery and then later it was used as a cold-storage warehouse, today it has reinvented itself as a unique stand alone, super-loft open to private events, outdoor wedding ceremonies and receptions, exhibitions and productions. It’s truly as gorgeous as it is unique!

For this occasion we the menu called for our deluxe Premiere Package so we had a wealth of tasty treats in store for everyone!

On hand were some of our very best tacos such as succulent shrimp, savory carne asada, farm fresh veggie tacos and all served on a fresh, hand-pressed tortilla that we made right on the spot.

To help bring the culinary experience to another level, we also brought with us an array of fresh made condiments and salsas. From bright and sweet mango salsa, to spicy red onions and creamy jack cheese, we had plenty of options to help all guests customize their own hand-held masterpiece.

Of course no meal would be complete without our fluffy lemon rice and creamy black beans sides. And, to help round out the entire experience we were proud to offer our fresh made, super crisp tortilla chips. There was definitely something for everyone!

It was overall a wonderful experience and it was truly an honor to be back at The Millwick. We’d like to thank the lovely newlyweds for choosing SOHO TACO for their special day and we hope everyone had as much fun as we did grilling for you!
