![]() What better way to spend a Tuesday lunch hour than with a beer pairing? And, that’s exactly what we did yesterday on a lovely Tuesday afternoon. One of our best customers happens to be the luxurious Prisma Apartments located not too far from our headquarters in Santa Ana. And, coming up soon on their calendar of special events for their valued tenants is a going to be a terrific evening of craft beer and appetizers. Doesn’t that make you just want to sign a lease with them like right now?! Our task was to try to find the best appetizers that would pair wonderfully with the beers they’d like to serve that night. So, a handful of us headed into Historic Downtown Santa Ana yesterday around noon to meet up with our friends at The Good Beer Company to help come up with a menu. ![]() If you haven’t been there before, The Good Beer company is an award winning brewery located right next to the Federal Building on 4th Street in Downtown Santa Ana. Here’s a description from their website:
![]() The brewery is closed on Tuesdays, but yesterday they opened their doors especially for us for this exclusive pairing and we had a great time! Their representative informed us that we were going to try at least four of their beers, two of them were on the light & tangy side which were the Happy Oro and the George, one was an IPA (sorry, forgot the name!) and the final one was their spicy Michelada. So good! As each one was poured out, we took a bite out of each appetizer to see which one went with that beverage. ![]() Of course everyone’s taste buds were different, but the consensus was that the light and tangy beers went wonderfully with the fish based Tostadita De Ceviche appetizer. When you bite into that handheld treat and take a sip of a light a tangy beer, it’s like being on summer vacation in Baja California. ![]() For this pairing session we had the honor of testing out four of our appetizers with the beers and they were our Tostadita de Ceviche as mentioned earlier, our savory Albondigas, the rich and bold Tostadita de Salmon Ahumado and our perennial favorite Rebanada de Uvas. All the appetizers were being prepared as fast as we were sipping. Of course, we still had to drive back to work so we had to make sure we didn’t over induldge! ![]() After about an hour or so we exchanged notes and made a few pairing decisions which we plan on shooting over to our mutual client at Prisma. For those of you privileged to be a resident of that fine establishment, you’re in for a treat! We’re not sure yet when the beer and appetizer night is taking place, but plan on having your taste buds dazzled with some of our best appetizers and then having your thirst quenched with some of the finest ales in Southern California. ![]() We want to thank our wonderful client for this opportunity to spend lunch with our new friends at brewery. We hope you enjoy the selections that we made and we look forward to serving you and your tenant soon. We also want to thank the super friendly and accommodating hosts over at The Good Beer. Your hospitality is matched by your exceptional ales. We look forward to working together with you soon at Prisma. Now, if you have a special event coming up and would like to pair some of our tantalizing appetizers with your favorite beverage, please be sure to drop us a line and we’re sure we can make it happen. Hope to hear from you soon. Buen provecho! SOHO TACO Promo Video Please CLICK HERE to view video on YouTube. and visit our no obligation catering request form today! |
