Happy Monday, everyone. Hopefully, your weekend was just as exhilarating as ours has been. The past few days were definitely filled with lots of good times, happy faces and taco carts filled with great food.
On the same day and at the same time as we were catering in Goleta at the Dos Pueblos Orchid Farm last Saturday, we were also in La Quinta grilling up our finest fare for another wedding at The Polo Villas. We just wanted to share with with you some of the exciting images that we took and showcase the beauty of this wonderful venue.
If you were in Southern California last weekend you know it was a bit on the wet side. A little storm rolled in Friday evening which drenched much of the Southland, including the desert cities like La Quinta. However, by the time Saturday rolled around it pretty much dissipated, but it there was some remnants that lingered behind like a few gale winds. So for this event the day started out a bit on the windy side. And, if you’ve ever been to Coachella, this place is literally right next door to the Empire Polo Club. So, you know the weather can be a bit challenging.
However, as the evening progressed the winds died down and the spirits were started to rise up. We fired up the grill and got ready to dazzle some taste buds.
On the menu for this beautiful evening was our savory carne asada, juicy pollo asado and our delectable spicy potato tacos, all served on fresh hand-pressed tortillas.
But before that we kicked off the festivities with some tasty appetizers such as our mini bean and cheese burritos and piping hot quesadillas. These are always great ways to get the party started and a great way to put a buffer between the liquor and the stomach lining. Once the appetizers were gobbled up, it was dinner time. That’s when we brought out our trifecta of flavors that was mentioned earlier.
One by one hungry guests approached the cart and we happily slapped a tortilla on their plate and filled it with mouth-watering goodness.
And, on a chilly windy night we’re pretty sure all this hot and tasty food was a welcome treat. Sure they were great on the palate but some guests probably held onto the tacos just a little longer to warm their hands!
Once guest walked away from the cart they were able to dress up their hand-held delights with any of our farm fresh salsas and condiments, like our fire roasted salsa roja and our spicy jalapeno salsa.
In the end, despite almost getting our heads blown off by the mother nature, it was another wonderful evening with some of the nicest, most patient people we have ever met.
As for the venue, it was an absolute delight. We are in the Indio and La Quinta area several times a year and it never gets tiring. It’s filled with some of the most stunning locations and the Polo Villas are no exception. If you have a special occasion coming up be sure to look it up and, if you do, think of SOHO TACO for your catering! 😉
