What better way to celebrate the 2019 Superbloom than with a gorgeous wedding at one of Mother Nature’s temples?
Last Saturday we had the great pleasure of returning to one of our favorite spots in Orange County, the Fullerton Arboretum. For this occasion we had the honor of being selected to cater for another beautiful wedding and we had a fantastic time!
Check out this quick video showcasing just a small portion of the grand festivities:
We’re no stranger to this lovely plant zoo and we enjoy it every time we serve at this location. But, every fiesta is unique and this wonderful occasion was no exception.

Built in 1979 on the northern end of nearby California State University of Fullerton, the mission of the arboretum is provide its visitors the opportunity to gain knowledge and appreciation of the plant world through collections that preserve and promote stewardship of worldwide plant diversity and regional agricultural heritage.
Clearly the grounds were so stunning it inspired many couples to tie the knot among the eye-popping vegetation and to host the celebrations there as well. And, that’s where we stepped in!
We were invited by the handsome couple to return to the agricultural centerpiece to fire up the grill and serve up some of our finest delights to hungry party goers, for which we’re greatly honored!
To help kick off the festivities we started out with some of our best appetizers, such and mini-bean and cheese burritos, tostaditas de ceviche, espadillas de camarones and much, much more.
This tray is jam packed with our exquisite Tostadita de Ceviche appetizers. Carefully grilling baquette toasts for one of the many appetizers our tantalizing Rebanadas de Uva. Savory Espadillas de Camarones carefully placed in formation ready for enjoyment.
These little bite sized delights were a perfect way to buy some time between the actual wedding ceremony and dinner service. Because during appetizer hour the newlyweds and the wedding party were busy traipsing about logging in their photos and memorable moments. And, these hand-held delights were a perfect way to keep the good times rolling …. without a revolt by hungry guests!
As for the tacos themselves, we had the opportunity showcase one of our specialty services, offering fresh, hand-pressed tortillas. For this evening’s dinner all tacos were served on piping hot, just made portions of this traditional Mexican treat and just having the guests watch the entire process unfold before their eyes was an especially magical moment.
Pressing masa for the hand-pressed tortillas took place throughout dinner service. This piping hot stack of fresh made tortillas was devoured in no time. Carefully situating the tortillas onto the plancha.
Many of the guests were from out of state or from locations where they don’t see tortillas being made per order. So often we would have onlookers gathered around the grills just to watch the mouth-watering techniques unfold. It was certainly a pleasure entertaining everyone and we enjoyed every minute of it!
Then the moment of truth came, dinner service! And, you know when it’s time to eat when the hungry bride is standing before the taco cart. Fortunately we were ready, willing and able to start dazzling taste buds at that point by slinging some of very best.

Once guest were placed their orders and received their blazing hot plate of tacos, they then proceeded to the remarkable table of condiments and side dishes situated just off to the side.
Not only were they able to enjoy fluffy rice and creamy beans with their meals, there were able to customize each of their tacos with a plethora of salsas and trimmings.

Our crew carefully laid out our heirloom pico de gallo, sweet mango salsa, luxurious salsa de guacamole as well as a wonderful selection of farm fresh onions, limes and cilantro. The table was set up like a stunning farmers market ready for their enjoyment and the compliments came rolling in.
There’s always room for guacamole! Don’t get any on your tie! Custom designed tacos in progress. Assembling a plate of tacos.
It’s always a pleasure watching guests approach the taco cart with bewilderment and then get served with a mouth-watering plate of tacos, only to be greeted moments later with a striking table jam packed with beautifully colored condiments and salsas.
Guests dove right into the sides and created their own masterpieces, tailor making their tacos to their own personal tastes. One by one guests would approach our team to express their happiness with the food and service, it was truly humbling. We worked especially hard that day to make this wedding reception absolutely unforgettable and we certainly hope we lived up to everyone’s expectations.

We adore the Fullerton Arboretum! Every time we serve at this epic venue we enjoy ourselves immensely. So, it was a great honor to have been selected by this lovely couple to come back and serve everyone for their very important day.
