Happy Wednesday! Hopefully your week is off to an exhilarating start, just like ours. Yesterday we had the great privilege of providing office corporate catering for one of the largest unions in Orange County, the OCEA. And, we had a great time!

The Orange County Employees Association (or “OCEA”) is the largest public sector union in Orange County representing approximately 18,000 workers and yesterday was their annual Health Fair.

At this annual outdoor lunchtime festival, thousands of their members descend upon their headquarters in Santa Ana to learn more about the goods and services provided throughout Orange County and the organization tops off the festivities with a catered meal.

And, guess who provided the mouth-watering meal?!

That’s right, SOHO TACO! We were once again selected to provide almost 2,000 meals yesterday, which we easily did without breaking a sweat.

In order to accommodate such a large number of guests we had to offer a streamlined menu and a strategically coordinated service. And, most importantly, provide the same level of quality and service we are known for, which wasn’t an easy task… but we did it!

To help move things along quickly we called up some of our finest team members and friends, so we had an army of 20+ helping out to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves.

As for the menu itself, we had the pleasure of offering refreshing Cesar Salad, fluffy lemon rice, succulent pollo asado, savory veggie tacos and a bag of crisp, fresh made tortilla chips.

Once a guest approached the assembly line, our team members helped to scoop each item onto their plate with a smile. Each crew member asked what type of taco they preferred, whether they wanted the tortilla on there or not and if they’d like mild or spicy salsa.

Usually when we cater an event guests were able to serve themselves, but in the interest of time and conserving product we had to implement a conveyor line approach. The result was a quick and easy service of thousands of people in under an hour and a half. In fact, each guest made it from start to finish in about a minute and we had 4 stations going at the same time. *WHEW!*

It was seriously like a well-oiled machine.

Judging from the positive responses and wonderful feedback we received it appears the lunch was an utter success! We were able to fill everyone’s plates, provide delectable toppings and squeeze out our finest salsas in no time at all. And, everyone managed to get back to work just on time.

It was a privilege and an honor to have been selected by the OCEA to help with this monumental task, we had an absolute great time serving everyone and hope everyone enjoyed their meals.

From intimate backyard birthdays to enormous lunchtime festivals, SOHO TACO can handle them all! We’re not only able to provide the excellent service demanded by all sizes of occasions, but we’re also proudly maintaining the quality that’s made us so well known.
