Yesterday before Congress the President of France Emmanuel Macron said it best when he addressed our US Congress, “There is no Planet B.”

As much as we enjoy grilling up some of the finest tacos in Southern California, we here at SOHO TACO also have an eye towards the future and environmental preservation. And, one way we’re doing our small part towards conserving Planet A is to provide environmentally friendly and biodegradable packages, like our bamboo plates and flatware.

The images you see in today’s blog were taken during last Saturday’s wedding reception at (where else?) the Environmental Nature Center in beautiful Newport Beach CA. And, what better place to debut our gorgeous line of Earth friendly plates and flatware than at a venue dedicated to the education and promotion of natural conservancy? What’s more, this romantic occasion took place on (of all days of the year) Earth Day Eve….. which, as President Macron would put it, was “très à propos!”

For this special event, we brought out our plates, napkins, forks, knives & spoons all made of bamboo. Yes, even that napkin is made of soft fibres of the same plant and was especially luxurious.

Together the entire set was gorgeous to look, wonderfully useful and environmentally sound. That way guests were able to enjoy their meals and then digest easy knowing they too are doing their small part towards helping Mother Nature.

Our biodegradable bamboo package is currently an upgrade on our private catering packages and last weekend was the first time we ever provided it at a wedding. The hope is that more orders come in and we get to offer it more often. And, who knows, in the future if it works out well maybe we can offer it as a standard item at all our events. Let’s cross our fingers… and our bamboo sticks.

In the meantime, we hope everyone who attended last Saturday’s wedding enjoyed using these plates and flatware. We’re absolutely proud to offer be able to offer it to them, hopefully we’ll get the chance to do it again for them soon.
