Something about being surrounded by nature really does help to add to the beauty of a special occasion. Ok, maybe not when there’s a destructive hurricane or an erupting volcano. But, when everything aligns and the weather is spectacular, you truly get a one of a kind experience and yesterday was no exception. Last night we had the great pleasure of catering for another stunning wedding at the gorgeous San Diego Botanic Garden and it was absolutely unforgettable. Check out this quick video showcasing all the great times we had just a few hours ago: Located just a few miles North of San Diego in the seaside town of Encinitas is this luch venue dedicated to the preservation of nature and the education of the community. In fact, their mission statement is “To inspire people of all ages to connect with plants and nature.” Speaking of connections, this venue is also a spectacular place for a wedding as we witnessed for ourselves last night. Yesterday evening we had the great pleasure of participating at a wonderful wedding reception that involved several types of connections between bride and groom, newlyweds and loved ones, guests and nature and, of course, palates with great food. For this occasion we started off the festivities with several of our finest appetizers, such as our Tostadita de Chorizo, Espadillas de Camarones, mini bean and cheese burritos and our signature albondigas. We managed to crank them all out in time for cocktail hour at the Herb Garden and hungry guests gobbled them up. Meanwhile, in the Gazebo Lawn area of the lushly landscaped venue, we had our taco cart fired up and grilling some of our best tacos. And, all hand-held delights were served on fresh hand-pressed tortilla. Wedding guests were treated to some of our specialties such as our carne asada, pollo asado, camarones and veggie tacos. Once guests received their plates of tacos they marched on over to the table overflowing with farm fresh salsas and condiments, such as our silky guacamole, sweet mango salsa, flavor packed pico de gallo and spicy salsa verde. Many of the guests were from out state and some of them never had the chance to taste a fresh, hand pressed tortilla before in their life. So, it was a great pleasure for us to help introduce many of them to their very first one. Overall it was another fantastic experience at the San Diego Botanic Garden. We’re not strangers to the venue, we’ve had the honor of serving here a few times already and each time is no less impressive. So, it was definitely good to be back. We would like to thank the lovely newlyweds for selecting SOHO TACO for their special day. It’s definitely an honor to “connect” with you. And, hopefully we’ll have the opportunity to serve you again soon. Buen provecho!
